  1. College Board Opportunity Scholarships: DEADLINES VARY - Complete a series of college-related tasks, such as building your college list, practicing for the SAT, and completing your FAFSA, for eligibility to earn scholarships. Complete five of six tasks to be eligible for a $40,000 scholarship

  2. Scholarships for Students Who are Caregivers: DEADLINES VARY BY SCHOLARSHIP. Visit the website for a list of scholarships specifically geared toward high school students who are also caregivers. Scholarship awards vary.

  3. American Legion Scholarships: Scholarships include the Baseball Scholarship, Samsung Scholarship, Legacy Scholarship, the Oratorical Contest, the Eagle Scout of the Year Scholarship, and the Shooting Sports Scholarship. Visit the American Legion website for details on each of these. Deadlines and award amounts vary. 

  4. The Law Office of Daniel Kim Scholarship: DEADLINE December 31, 2022. This is a $5000 scholarship to be awarded to a student with a 3.0 GPA or higher, who will be attending university/college for the 2022-2023 school year. 1200 word essay required (prompt is on the website). Winner to be notified January 15, 2023.

  5. Michelle Obama's $10K Scholarship:  DEADLINE February 1, 2023. Use your life experiences and writing talent to share your story via a 500-word minimum, 10-page maximum memoir. Your personal essay must be written in English. 

  6. Lancaster County Community Foundation Scholarship:  DEADLINE January 31, 2023. Administered and awarded by Scholarship America. The LCCF is a participating partner in the PHEAA PATH program, meaning that some awards could be matched by PHEAA on a dollar-to-dollar basis up to $2500!  See the link on the Going Merry site for more information.

  7. PSECU Scholarship: DEADLINE February 28, 2023. Must become a member of PSECU by December 31, 2022. Up to $8000 awarded to 6 recipients (up to $2000 per year X 4 years). College of attendance does not have to be in Pennsylvania. Essay required.

  8. Chafee Education and Training Grant ProgramDEADLINE December 31, 2022. Up to $5000 for a PA resident who is aging out of foster care, or discharged or adopted from foster care at age 16. Must become enrolled at least 1/2 time in an approved college or career school. 

  9. B. Davis Scholarship: DEADLINE May 21, 2023. $1000 awarded to a high school junior or senior. Essay required, addressing the topic "Describe 3 characteristics of leadership you value most. Discuss why you believe that these traits are so important & how you feel they are developed in an individual.

  10. Daughters of the American Revolution Scholarship: DEADLINE January 31, 2023. Award unspecified. Criteria considered: academic excellence, committment to your field of study, financial need. "Awards are placed on deposit with the recipient’s college or university and any unused portion shall be returned to the DAR.

  11. Optimist International Essay Contest: DEADLINE January 10, 2023. Students under the age of 19. This is local essay contest and winners will receive a monetary award. Winners will have an opportunity to advance to district and world competitions. Local winners earn $100, $200, or $300 and district winners receive a $2500 college scholarship.
